Talking Fruits
23 October 2009

Oh, wow, now talking fruits are visiting my blog. My blog must be getting around. But bananas aren't what I imagined, they're mean. :( But those talking bananas ain't gonna stop me from eating bananas. Yes, I will be eating yellow dicks, it'll be the new cool. I wonder what the other fruits are saying about my blog... I hope apples have good things to say. :)

OK, fine, you like Miley Cyrus. I don't care. I know there are lovers and haters of Miley Cyrus, I just happen to be a hater of her. You ask me if I'm going to hate you now that you're her supporter. The answer is: How can I when I don't even know who you really are? Besides that, there are so many Miley Cyrus supporters out there, I can't possibly hate every single one of them. So, yes, aren't you glad I don't hate you? No, I suppose not since your objective here is to make me hate you, isn't it?

I know I'm not pretty, not famous worldwide, can't sing well, and that my voice is grating against your ears.

Now I know someone finds my voice grating against their ears... What can I do? I know perfectly well that Miley Cyrus can't do anything about her voice either, but so? That doesn't mean I can't criticize her. It's a free world! At least I think you can flame celebs and get away with it. My blog is so unknown, anyway. (But it's getting more and more popular in the fruit world!) Sorry for my voice but I can't change that. I was born with this voice. If you hate my voice, just hate the entire of me. But I'm sure you already do, right?

I'm not pretty? *gasp* What a shock. I know I'm not pretty, dude. I mean, look at the amount of PIMPLES I have! It's a total acne outbreak! And nobody can deny the fact that I have fats bulging above my waistband. *sigh* I'm trying to improve my looks though, hey. So I wish you'd be patient if my looks now are an eyesore to you. Well, it's nice that you think Miley Cyrus is pretty. She'll be happy to know that. I don't think she's very pretty, though, that's my own opinion.

I can't sing well. What a pity. I really wonder why my sister never told me I sing badly. I'm always singing in the room we share. I also practice in the shower. :] Waitaminute, my sister does tell me. Over and over again. But I guess you can say that I'm stubborn and deluded. So is William Hung. Hey, maybe I can be as famous as him one day (as a deluded singer)! I never said Miely Cyrus is a bad singer, I guess she can hold her notes pretty well. I just don't like her voice, that's all.

Oh, that'll make me world famous! Then I can be in the same league as your beloved Cyrus. But in the mean time, I'm not. That doesn't really bother me. Who cares if I'm not known worldwide? Nobody wants to know me, anyway. A person walking past me would think of me as a 'girl with a face that I want to smack, too bad she looks scary'. Someone like me will never make it in the entertainment industry. How sad. *fierce face* Nah, I'm not bothered by it at all. Miley Cyrus is having it tough herself. Too bad I hate her. Even if I don't, I'll PITY her. And that's not much better.

I know I have much more bad points. But it'll take me all night to list it and readers will get bored instantly. I don't want the VIPs (fruits) to get bored, after all!

It cannot be denied that I'm not upset about haters of myself. But I'll get over it. Just like how Cyrus got over it. Ho, so I guess we're alike in some way, Cyrus and I. I bet you hate that, don't you.

Yours Mine,
Shalyn.

P.S. In second thought, no, I'm not yours.

P.S.S. Thanks, Sin Huay and Ying Ying for being great pals! :)

Be Yourself
21 October 2009

The most pointless song ever. We don't need to know how she enjoys basking in her damn glory. Her voice is grating against my ears. But, damn the tune is catchy. Impossible to not sing-along unless you watch the shameless video.

This subject has been touched upon plenty of times. It has been the moral for several movies, stories etc. However, no matter how many times 'just be yourself' has been repeated, there are still people out there who persist to ignore that message. So... I'm going to try my hand at advising about this.

What are the reasons for not 'being yourself'? Well, there are many reasons, obviously. Most of the time, it's because they think they're not 'cool' enough, that they won't be able to fit in, that they won't be able to make friends with anyone.

I'm not going to guarantee that everyone will like/love you if you be yourself. But there will be much more people who will like/love you if you are yourself rather than when you are not. If all your 'friends' find you a bother when you are simply being yourself, then they're obviously not your true friends.

You have to understand that friends cannot be found with just a snap of the finger. You have to be patient, take your time.

Why should you find a friend quickly when you're not being true to them? There's absolutely no point in that. When you're with them, you get an uncomfortable feeling. You feel anxious when there's a silence. 'Should I say something? Damn, are they bored?' On the surface, you'll be happy. Deep inside, you're just an empty shell. There's seriously no point in putting up a pretense in front of friends. I'd rather not have friends than maintain the painful facade.

Being a 'cool' person has nothing to do with the way you walk or the way you talk. It has nothing to do with the way you behave! If you walk with a swagger, talk like you're drunk but at the same time sober and show attitude to people you should show respect to, then you're just trying very hard to be cool. Only the idiots will think you're cool. The smart ones will be able to see they you're a total dud, you're just a person acting cool, which is pathetic. And you shouldn't be friends with idiots. They'll be friends with anyone who offers them something to be happy about. If someone like Paris Hilton comes by and offers a dollar to them if they ditch you and become her friends, they'll gladly accept.

How do you be 'cool' then? Well, just be yourself, of course. There's nothing cooler than being yourself. 'Cool', I guess, is an adjective to describe a person who is worth respecting. Being yourself, you're not putting up an act. People will naturally respect you for daring to show your true nature just especially you people who have a somewhat terrible true personality. And these people who naturally respect you will become your friends. Those who don't think you're worth respecting won't be your friends, that's all. (Why should you need more friends if you have the greatest in the world?)

Wow, how unhelpful this advisory post is.

Yours,
Shalyn.

P.S. There are definitely people who like you for who you truly are. If you continue this game of hide-and-seek, you'll just end up hurting them. Making them worry like mad. Really, what are you trying to do, you pathetic soul?

P.S.S. Changed the blogskin. :)

Feel-Likes
20 October 2009

HEY!

Your favourite blogger is back. Haha. Just kidding.

I want to start off by thanking all the people who wished me a happy birthday. It might not have been the best birthday since I had to spend it studying... Uh, sorta studying, anyway. Ahaha...

Right... So what do I want to blog about?

I feel like changing my blogskin even though I really like this one. I wanna change it to a girly blogskin. Light colours... Maybe pink. I feel like getting girly books as well. October is a girly month for me.

I have freakin' nothing to talk about. I shall be back when I do.

Yours,
Shalyn.

P.S. Don't miss me.

2 Girls 1 Cup
22 September 2009

2 Girls 1 Cup is the trailer of a pornographic movie called Hungry Bitches. 2 Girls 1 Cup is only the nickname of the trailer, though. It's a trailer. But yet, I'll bet anything that it's even more disgusting than the porno movie.

You know why?

The trailer features 2 girls in an office. One girls shits into a cup and they start licking the shit up. This continues for about 20 seconds. Then one of the girls vomited into the cup, onto the pile of shit. And that's when I stopped the bloody video.

It wasn't that it was too disgusting, I mean it would be totally disgusting for most people, I guess. But I found it bearable, I would be able to watch the video without any crazy reactions. It's not because I'm weird. It's because the shit looks freaking fake. And the vomit didn't even look like vomit. It was just some red lumpy liquid the girl is spewing out from her mouth.

Anyway, it was that my father is at home. And I didn't want him to catch me watching that video. I know I shouldn't even have clicked on it if I didn't want him to catch me, but I didn't expect it too be that sick. The first part, already the girls were making out with each other. ~.~ Definitely not something parents would approve of. Yeah, so, if you wanna check the video out (which I would advise you not to), just google 2 girls 1 cup.

2 girls 1 cup wasn't the only video to go viral. There was a trend going around America to video-tape their reactions while watching 2 girls 1 cup. Most of them were true reactions, some were staged. Some are pretty funny. There's one viral on Youtube, someone managed to trick her grandma into watching the video. Poor grandma. :(

X Factor. An autistic guy trying to break the pre-judgement people get for autistic people. :) He was a pleasant surprise.

Shalyn.

Pictures Spam. & Birthdays
15 September 2009

My birthday's coming in 24 days! Heh, I've never really felt excited for my birthday before, but I seem particularly excited for this year. My sister's is coming too. Her birthdate is sixth of October, only four days before mine. Yes, in my family, my birthday is the last to celebrate. T.T I guess it's appropriate since I'm the youngest too. That doesn't really make any sense, but who cares?

Pokka's birthday is coming in only 3 DAYS!
Cham's birthday is coming in 16 DAYS!

I realized today that what I want for my birthday are very simple things. Rexgrip mechanical pencil and pencil lead; notebook; sketchbook; storybook *cough*Enid Blyton*cough*; mooncake etc. Simple things, see? I get happy easily. Hahah. MOONCAKE.

Apparently... Not Very Insulted by Racist Comments
12 September 2009

As everyone knows, racism can never really be wiped off the face of Earth. Even in a polite and conservative community like Singapore, racist comments can still be heard around the block.

But, anyway, what goes on in Singapore doesn't really have anything to do with what I'm about to mention.

I watched a couple of videos on YouTube, and you know how shy Singaporeans get in front of the camera, so obviously the videos weren't featuring any Singaporeans. They were American videos, but there was made by an Asian guy living in Australia, which is pretty cool if you think about it, eh?

So, there were quite a lot of racist comments in the videos. & apparently, they're not very insulting at all. I think they're all trying to say how un-hip and nerdy Asians are, but so what?

I can't assure you that I won't flare up if you insult us Chinese in the future, but these racist comments about Asians Americans make are pretty stupid and mild. Definitely won't see me posting a rude comment about Americans on the video. It actually makes me laugh.

If everyone can hold an attitude like I do towards racism, everything would be great. But not everyone is like me. (Duh, I'm one any only.)

Now, after that egoistical two-liner, it's time to post another video I find cool.

She's playing a bass. The ending song of K-On! I posted the video of the instrumental for the song in my last post, if you didn't know. Yeah, I didn't expect it to be instrumental. When I found out, I was too lazy to search for the one with vocals. Heh. Anyway, back to this video.

It's a girl cosplaying Nagato Yuki playing one of my favourite songs, how more fabulous can it get? Basses are one of the most underrated instruments in a band, aye? People usually play piano or guitars nowadays and post their covers online, this is the first time I've seen a bass-playing chick online. Bass-playing Japanese chick, that is.

Yours,
Shalyn.

HAPPY THOUGHTS~!
11 September 2009

Let's not call our parents an ass just because of something minor! Don't be spoilt, hey!

Alright, here's a new song for you! It's a J-pop song from the an anime I recently finished watching. You're welcome to watch it, you have my permission and recommendation! Heh. It's called K-On! Yes, with the exclamation mark, just like Spectacular!

It's called Don't Say 'Lazy'. It's by the seiyuus of the four main characters in the anime.

Now... what was it that I wanna touch on? Oh, yeah! It's time to feel good about yourself! I may not do this all the time but it's understandable since it's me! List ten things you like about yourself! My favorite number is four, so I'll just list four.

...

No, I'm not lazy!

1. I like my new hair!
2. I'm good at Maths!
3. I have good taste in music!
4. I'm not weird like most people nowadays, which makes me special!

There you go! Now I feel better about myself. Heheh. I only have time for 4, anyway, because my sister wants to hit the sack now, and she'll kick up a fuss if we don't off the lights in approximately ten minutes. Alright, I'll end here. FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF EVEN IF IT'S ONLY FOR FIVE MINUTES.

Yours,
Shalyn.

P.S. Don't use words like 'think' or 'maybe'! HAVE FULL SELF-CONFIDENCE.

Spectacular!
09 September 2009

Announcement: Chinese Homework is up on AskNLearn, so remember to go and download the file.

I woke up surprisingly late today. At 12 plus. Yes, that is considered late for me. I woke up at 9+ on both Monday and Tuesday. Maybe it's because we slept at around 11 p.m. on Sunday and Monday nights, while last night... We slept at 1 a.m. But no matter how late I woke up today, I didn't miss Spectacular!, which was at 1 p.m.

Spectacular! is a Nickelodeon TV movie. It's sort of a musical, like High School Musical. It stars Noland Gerard Funk, some unknown guy until this movie, that is. Noland Gerard Funk plays Nikko, a rockstar wannabe with an attitude problem. He got kicked out of his band, Flux, and Courtney, the leader of their school's show choir (Spectacular!), tried to recruit him into the show choir.

Show Choir is something like choir, except you have to sing and dance around. It's kind of dorky, as labeled by many of the 'cool' people in the show. But I have a feeling it would be something of an honor if you are in your school's show choir if there's such a thing in Singapore. (Singapore is boring - with it's choir)

Nikko rejects Courtney's offer at first but eventually agrees in a later part of the show.

I'm not gonna be the spoiler because this show is great. It's better than preppy-no-worries-at-all High School Musical. High School Musical can't even be compared with Spectacular! In High School Musical, everybody doesn't seem to have a worry except for Troy and Gabriella. But theirs' is minor and totally unimportant. In Spectacular!, there are some pretty big problems, which makes sense. High School Musical - 0 points. Spectacular! - 100 points.

Noland Gerard Funk is a good singer. I don't find him ugly, but he's not very good looking either. - Ahem - He sings good in the movie, anyway. He performed live and there's a video on Youtube. I didn't watch it but its viewers say he sucked in live performance. And some user said that he sounds better in the movie because his voice is already recorded and edited. Well, who knows? His voice was recorded, yes. Edited? I don't know.

But the show's good. Courtney is quite pretty.

Yours,
Shalyn.

P.S. So much better than bloody High School Musical.

Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon
08 September 2009

Hey, guys. Well, it’s official. I’m addicted to Sex on Fire by the Kings of Leon. It’s time for…

Posting of Lyrics of the Song ‘Cus I’m so Bored

Yes, it is. I have to announce that because I don’t usually post lyrics. Well, any song to recommend me? Besides Michael Jackson songs, because all of them should be recommended. I’ll listen to the song and maybe post the lyrics.

Lay where you're laying
Don't make a sound
I know they're watching
They're watching

All the commotion
the kiddie like play
Has people talking
Talking

You
Your sex is on fire

The dark of the alley
The break of the day
Head while I'm driving
I'm driving

Soft lips are open
Them knuckles are pale
Feels like you're dying
You're dying

You
Your sex is on fire
Consumed
With what's just transpired

Hot as a fever
Rattling bones
I could just taste it
Taste it

But it's not forever
But it's just tonight
Oh we're still the greatest
The greatest
The greatest

You
your sex is on fire

You
Your sex is on fire

Consumed
With what's just transpired

And You
Your sex is on fire

Consumed
With what's just transpired

And as all of you can see, the title means nothing, really. It’s not a very sick song. I have not analysed the lyrics yet but I don’t feel like it. Just… enjoy it, you know?

So, have you all checked out the new blogskin I made yet? The link can be found in my previous post. If you’re too lazy to do that, you can click on the ‘click me’ you can find in the sidebar. And scroll down to ‘my skins’ and click the last skin there. You’ll have to do two extra clicks, of course.

Now, I just wanna wish Olivia Cheong a happy birthday. And I hope she’ll enjoy Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. By the way, I found this song while watching this guy called Jamie Archer, who is a participant in the UK competition X Factor. You should all check him out, he’s cool. A natural-born entertainer as one of the judges put him.

Yours,
Shalyn.

I just uploaded a new skin that I’d like you to see. A skin that Miss Tay wouldn’t like. Heh.

Click here and here and here.

Have a splendid day!

Bear With Me, Alright?
07 September 2009

Hello everyone!

New word of the Day: Chaste.

Basically, it has the same meaning as 'virgin'. Alright, let’s get on with the topics I wanna touch on today.

I realised something today that explains many things that have happened in my life. My father’s hobby is bothering the people around him. Whoever’s awake, he’ll take the chance to annoy. It explains all the times he comes into the room and say random stuff. This is a heads up, Renee. Your father will soon get bored and take up the hobby of annoying you + your mom.

My brother had to go back to school for some supplementary class this afternoon. My sister went out before lunch to study with her friends. I had tuition at 12.30. My father is supposed to buy us (my brother & I) lunch. He bought it at 12.00, and he expected us to finish at 12.15. Well, my brother might be able to finish it at that time, but I certainly cannot. Well, maybe I can, but that’s because the food sucked. At the end, we reached the tuition place late. I was late for tuition. Is this my fault? Maybe. But I had such a good time convincing myself that it sure wasn’t my fault, and that it was my father’s fault because he bought lunch really late. I had a feeling my mother was angry at my being late because once I stepped into the room, she shot me a murderous glare. I wasn’t all that surprised when tuition was over and she wasn’t speaking to me.

We went for dinner at Eastpoint, and she finally touched upon the subject. “Who was the one who delayed this afternoon?” Without even hesitating, I had pointed the ends of my chopsticks to my father, who was sitting beside me, busy eating. “Daddy.” I had said. As soon as those words reached his ears, he stopped stuffing his face and looked at me. “No, it’s you all who dilly-dallied and took your own sweet time.” We (my father and I) quarrelled for a while, and soon ended with me keeping silent but fuming.

While we were eating in silence, I realised something. Not that my father liked bothering people, but that it was cruel of me to point fingers at my father without another second’s thought. I mean, he is my father, after all. I shouldn’t be rude. & soon a little evil emotion called guilt kicked in. Guilt made me even more furious. Not at my father, but at myself. That’s what it does. That terrible emotion that eats you inside-out.

And besides, accusing your father of something that I thought was his fault wouldn’t be the best thing to do if it’s the last time you’re seeing him (touch wood!). And here we go, the next topic I wanna talk about. Death.

Pain is temporary. So even if we died with a stab to our heart, it wouldn’t hurt us as long as it would hurt the person closest to our hearts. This could be one of the reasons why loners are the way they are. Not because they think everyone is below them, but because of the exact opposite. Maybe this is also why people are afraid of death. They’re afraid of letting their loved ones be hurt for a prolonged period of time.

Now that we’re done with all that…

I’ve caught the common flu bug.

Yours,
Shalyn.

Contradictory Much?
29 August 2009

Hello, people with pulses in their veins. I heard the phrase, “every human with a pulse” twice today, so I decided to use it.

It’s time for…

A QUICK POST

Well, I would like to point out something. There are many ‘passerby’s in the internet world, aren’t there? But some ‘passerby’s aren’t necessarily flamers/spammers etc. Some times they just feel like remaining anonymous when asking about the blogskin, the pictures etc, you know, information. They want to remain anonymous for some reason I don’t know. They just feel shy or something, even on the internet. These are the ‘passerby’s whom mean no harm. But they are still (I’d like to point out) ‘hiding behind their computer screens’.

There is another kind of ‘passerby’, those who are hostile and stomp on the blogger’s esteem. The bloggers are therefore hostile back. & maybe their friends will back them up. Their answers should possibly be, “You coward, hiding behind your computer screen, scared to reveal your name?"

I will take not revealing your name as remaining anonymous, won't you agree? So they’re basically saying they’re hostile towards people who are anonymous. But then why are they welcoming to those inquisitive ones?

How retarded. ~.~ Remind me to never reply with, “Hiding behind your computer screen, huh?” when there’s a spammer on my blog. But – touch wood – I hope those spammers stay away.

Yours,
Shalyn.

P.S. I wonder if this post will attract spammers. ~.~ O-okay.

Johnny Depp Has A Sexy Voice
25 August 2009

Haha, well, he doesn’t exactly have a very sexy voice, but I find it unique. He has a nice young tone. As everyone knows, I plan on doing Julie Andrews for my SOAR presentation on Thursday. But I soon found myself caught in between doing Julie Andrews or… Johnny Depp.

So I decided to do another Powerpoint presentation for Johnny Depp, you know, in case I changed my mind. I tried searching on Youtube for an appropriate video of Johnny Depp. But I ended up watching song clips from Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street. & they're really good, by the way. I also watched some Edward Scissorhands videos. I saw the trailer and the show is apparently a thousand years old. No, just kidding, it was just that the trailer was really sucky. Didn’t make me want to watch the show. But I really loved the show, anyway. I watched it a long time ago, and it was practically love at first sight. I mean, between the show and me. Not between the oh-so-charming Johnny Depp and me.

As I was saying, Johnny Depp isn’t the most brilliant singer, his singing is just average, but his voice, according to critics, was perfect for the Sweeney Todd role. ^~^ I have a feeling Johnny Depp purposefully let his voice into that pitch to match the Sweeney Todd role. I’m pretty sure he can go further than his average singing… Not that I found his singing average, it was brilliant. Heh.

& there’s another song in Sweeney Todd that I found rather nice but it isn’t by Johnny Depp. It’s called Johanna.

Peace and love,
Shalyn.

Tsk, To Think I Actually Complimented
19 August 2009

Don’t you just hate it when you compliment a person and the very next moment, the person does something to totally make you regret generously giving the compliment? Well, I do. Regret, regret, regret. Regret’s such a strong and bitchy emotion.

Well, anyway… Let’s say you see this picture of your enemy but you think, “Hey, I really like her shirt… Damn! But I still have to admit I like her shirt…” & then you continue scrolling down and you see something that really bitch-slapped you across your face – You’ll be like, “And to think I complimented her.”

Yep, that was what happened to me. Hm, isn’t that repetition? The 2nd paragraph and 1st paragraph has the same main meaning. Well, let’s ignore that! What I wanted to say was: I didn’t take back my compliment. I mean, what for? It was already thought. And I can’t deny the truth that I think her shirt is cute. (But, of course “the shirt” was hypothetical. It wasn’t really her shirt that I found cute.)

I don’t know what the point of the 3rd paragraph was… To point out my graciousness? Haha, no, that’s not it.

So how was everyone’s first day of common tests for this term? Well, I’m pretty sure I can pass Science (Because of my wide knowledge of the Sexual Reproduction Intercourse. JUST JOKING!), but for Chinese? Not so much confidence there. I was crying inwardly while doing the paper. NO WAY. I don’t cry because I fail a subject. Yeah, I’m tough like snails nails.

Well, then, look like my work here is done.

Avril Lavigne

Yours,
Shalyn.

OMG! It got ACCEPTED!
12 August 2009

Right now, I’m really psyched. Why? ‘Cus my Jigoku Shoujo layout (this one I’m using now) got ACCEPTED! It got accepted by createblog.com. It’s this website I signed up for at the beginning of the year. I submitted an image I made once but it got rejected. But, this time it got ACCEPTED! You can check out the other stuff on createblog.com. Just click here. happy

CREATEBLOGACCEPTED!

That’s proof! Click on it to see the original size.

MAILOFACCEPTANCE!

The mail they sent to me to notify me! The title of the mail and the sender. I love that person!

ACCEPTED,REALLY!

Yep, that’s the last evidence. Hahaha. I’m so happy.

So far, one person commented and one person favourited. And they’re two different people. Haha, you don’t see me getting hyped up when someone favourites or comments a blogskin I submit to blogskins.com… Maybe it’s ‘cus I sort of feel that createblog is like exclusive. It's not easy to get something submitted on createblog, you know. Out of 30, 000 stuff submitted, only 8, 000 were accepted. And I’M IN THE 8, 000! Woo hoo! Haha. Okay, I should stop gloating about my glory.

WOO,
Shalyn.
